Winners of the 2024 Remembrance Day Posters, Poems and Literary Contest

The Remembrance Day Posters, Poems and Literary Contest was held again for 2024 by the Perth-Upon-Tay Royal Canadian Legion Branch 244.  This contest is designed for local area school students and gives them the opportunity to demonstrate their artistic and literary skills while addressing the significance and importance of Remembrance Day in Canada.

We truly wish to thank the principals, staff and students of our local schools for their efforts in submitting student contest entries.  This year’s participating schools were: Perth and District Collegiate Institute, St. John’s Catholic Elementary School,  Queen Elizabeth School, North Elmsley School, Drummond School and the Perth Children’s House.

This year’s entries were excellent and as in past years judging was most difficult and we wish to thank our judges Tom Thompson, Derek Ingersol and Don Boudreau for their time and experience. Winning entries will be sent to Zone competition for further judging and hopefully will do well at that level.

The students earned a monetary gift as well as a certificate of accomplishment for excellence in their artistic and literary skills.

Thank you to all!!!!
